elearning Myofascial Release Massage CEU CourseLearn how to address chronic tension and pain with myofascial release techniques. In Jumozy's new online Myofascial Release course (4 CE Hrs.), certified massage therapist, John Hoffmann, demonstrates the strokes and a complete routine for providing myofascial release on the body from head to feet, posterior and anterior.

Myofascial release is a type of bodywork which employs a steady, constant physical pressure, working through restricted areas in the soft tissues of the body. Known for its effectiveness in alleviating pain and in creating healthy changes in the muscular and connective tissues of the body, this massage has become the foundation for many therapists' work.

Fascia refers to a type of connective tissue that encompasses the entire body, while encasing each individual structure in the body. So every bone, every muscle, every organ, every vein, every artery has a layer of fascia that runs around it. By its very nature, fascia provides a key supportive structure for all the body's systems. Through its continual and multi-directional network of fibers, the fascia maintains the structural integrity through motion. Through the development of disease or injury, the fascia can become restrictive and a source of tension, exerting pressure, causing pain, and limiting mobility. So, myofascial release can help smooth out the fiber, allowing the body to move and function properly. This deep tissue massage, while promoting relaxation, creates change in the physical structure of the muscle and fascia.

Online Myofascial Release CE Course for Massage Therapy Training"When a client asks for deep tissue work or talks about chronic tension and pain, myofascial release can benefit them," says Hoffmann.

The online course incorporates video footage of step-by-step demonstrations with close-ups so students can easily see the techniques used. Hoffmann also discusses benefits and contraindications, history, types of myofascial release, tools, draping, and how to address specific complaints.

The course is broken down into small, manageable units, with quizzes to test and reinforce knowledge. Video footage breaks up text with discussions and demonstrations of the procedure. At the end of the course, upon satisfactory assessment scores, students can immediately print out a certificate of achievement. Resources are included for licensing and further information.

Student feedback has been positive, speaking to the quality of information, presentation, organization, and overall user friendliness:

"I thought the course material was outstanding and teaching a method of massage that most therapists don't have a full grasp on. I thought the videos contained great information and demonstrations. . . .Overall I thought the course is a great resource for therapists." Benjamin T.

"I was very satisfied with this course; it was fun and educational. . ." Scott C.
